Some properties in Victoria will be flat out declined by a bank but sometimes you may be able to build a strong case with the right lender and get your application approved. A mortgage broker can help with this.

Alphabetically, you will find below a list of Victorian suburbs and specific addresses. Refer to this guide as you search for properties you might want to be buy or invest in.

Yes, for some of these properties it doesn’t matter whether it’s for investment purposes or owner occupied: they will be assessed in the same way by most banks.

For some of the property locations we’ve included a link to a specific page which provides more information on what makes certain properties unacceptable as security.

Despite this, there are exceptions with some lenders and there can be massive differences in how much you can borrow so it pays to speak with one of our experienced mortgage brokers.

Student accommodation doesn’t meet bank size requirements. This is a common problem when it comes to student units because they’re really only designed for one or two people to live in. This means a much smaller market of potential buyers which is a massive risk for banks.
